Guatemala Acatenango Gesha
🚚 Roasted Saturday May 30, hand-delivered by June 1. Pre-orders open now.
Elegant. Floral. Pristine.
This "AA" selection represents the absolute peak of clarity from the steep, volcanic slopes of the Acatenango region. While many Gesha varieties offer sweetness, this specific lot was chosen for its elevated floral intensity and a vibrant fruit character that remains remarkably clean on the palate. At an altitude of 1700 meters, the nutrient-dense volcanic soil imparts a structured acidity that gives the cup a juicy, multi-layered complexity.
In the cup, expect an immediate bouquet of jasmine pearls and violet, evolving into the bright, refreshing sweetness of red pear and persimmon. As the coffee cools, it reveals delicate notes of Meyer lemon and honey, finishing with a refined, tea-like tannin reminiscent of a premium jasmine green tea.
We have applied a precise, light roast to honor the incredible aromatics of this cultivar, ensuring the fragrant raw sugars and floral oils are fully celebrated without the interference of roast bitterness. This is a rare, high-clarity expression of Guatemalan terroir that demands a moment of stillness to fully appreciate.
